Twitter – Biggest mistake of shifting 1 year late.

Twitter being a micro-blogging text first platform was my favorable. But me being me considered it only a platform for politicians and powerful persons to debate. It on the other hand has so much to offer which can never be fully explored. Twitter has much higher potential.

Twitter is a sort of second brain to a person where they can record and share their thoughts in an instance.

I am yet in phase of learning how to use it properly. But what I have learnt and why I have shifted here, know that in full depth in the following blog post.

Why I chose twitter now ?

The main reason behind shifting to this platform was hassle I faced with continuous change in format of Instagram. Apart from that one reason that attracted me towards it was threads from successful people.

Like you can get insights of some legendary entrepreneurs’ mind and on what ideology they live their life. Their routines and many more.

The short and conceptual description of a topic is much more easier to remember. Apart from lengthy blog posts.

I also have a routine that I shared on twitter. Here is a shortcut to it. link.

How do I use it ?

I use it mainly to mock around people and share some useful threads, whose archive you get on this section of our website.

But most of time I spend here is in order to learn the skill of copywriting by observing so many good authors and writers over the platform.

I avoid being indulged into politics and dramas that trend on twitter.

Do I spend my entire day on it ?

I sort of spend an hour writing threads on it early in morning. Apart from that I use it in bits and pieces to consume content and engage with other people.

I love to make puns around various twitter feeds – Tweets/Threads/GCs.

Btw mocking people is not good. This may lead you to some trouble any fine day, do it at your own risk.

Is it as time consuming as Instagram ?

Obviously it is as time consuming as Instagram in terms of curating good content but on other hand content creation is hassle free.

As I said, it takes me less than an hour to create a thread.

On other hand, creating Instagram post took more time as it required graphic + text.

My fav part of twitter – Thread.

Threads – It is that part / type of content which is deep and detailed broken into several short interlinked posts.

Threads can be used for explaining a process, or for journaling , or for recording observation day after day.

There are two threads that I have started namely :

  1. The 5 am routine.
  2. Book Summary.

The 5 am routine :

In this thread I have shared my newly made 5 am routine which I am following for a while now.

This thread was inspired by Ankur Warikoo.

Book Summary :

In this thread, I summarize learning chapter by chapter from the book I am reading during that particular period of time.

This thread was inspired by Ali abdaal.

Why it is best ?

  • It makes easier for a person to skim through content and reach only the required information, just like timestamps on YouTube videos.
  • On the other hand, it gives freedom to creator in order to elaborate the topic to the depths point by point.
  • The word limit on platform is quite low compared to google seo, which is better for people who struggle with words to fill up.

Is twitter an easy to grow platform like tik-tok/Reels ?

Growth is not a concept when it comes to using twitter but for sake of answering this question, it is not an easy task.

It requires same consistency as any other platform in content creation and engagement in order to grow.

The best thing about twitter is that, it has less number of bots which means more authentic audience which can be converted into affiliate buyers in future.

The audience over twitter is formed with human connections.

Types of content you can create :

  1. Single posts. ( text and images).
  2. Threads.
  3. Hosting Spaces.
  4. Your comments also count here as content.

More about spaces :

Spaces are public, so anyone can join as a listener, including people who don’t follow you. Listeners can be directly invited into a Space by DMing them a link to the Space, Tweeting out a link, or sharing a link elsewhere. Up to 13 people (including the host and 2 co-hosts) can speak in a Space at any given time.

In simple words, spaces are live podcasts with up to 13 guests at a single time from comfort of their own places. No need to gather in real time to speak as a guest.

More about comments :

  1. Comments should be moderate.
  2. They should never hurt the sentiments of any other users.
  3. Public shaming should be highly avoided.

Dos and Don’ts of Twitter :

  1. Never insult anyone.
  2. Use the language acceptable by society.
  3. Don’t spam the DM of other people.
  4. Stick to a certain way of writing. Writing is the replacement of how you will speak on YouTube video or in person.

Does Twitter help you in conversions ?

I personally feel that twitter can divert much audience to another source because there is a personal touch between the creator and audience.

There are 16% conversions of that a business makes coming through twitter. Imagine the quality of people over the platform.

Should you make a shift ?

If writing about something or anything is your passion, twitter has doors open for you. Irrespective of your current content creation, whether it is a blog/a LinkedIn account where you post long form content. You can shift to twitter in order to create content in bits that is still relevant and in flow.

The only difference that exist between the former and later is the ease and convenience you get on twitter is unmatchable.

If this post feels useful to you, reward me by giving me a follow on Twitter.

Thank you.

Signing off.

Lucky Sabnani.
