A video from Indore that outraged on social media around 12th January 2023, some people from Nihang Sikh community entered a Sindhi temple built inside the residence of an individual. It is very usual for people to find a temple inside a sindhi house. But what is coming next is very interesting. I usually don’t prefer to talk about these religious things but this time it was necessary. Before we get into it, I will give you a broad over-view of Sindhi Community.
There are two type of people in Sindhi Community :
- The people who worship Sai Jhulelal ( An Incarnation of Varun Dev which arise out of waters of Holy Sindhu River).
- The followers and disciple of Udasin Panth which was started by the son of Shri Guru Nanak Dev, Shri Baba Chandra hare.
The followers and disciple of Shri Baba Chandra hare, technically have the equal right and faith in them to follow Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their mythological gurus.
Taking back of 75-80 Guru Granth sahib ji from sindhi community is a great attack on their belief in Guru Nanak Dev since the year 16th century as per Wikipedia records.
Sikh and Singh are two different set of people :
As per what I’ve read and researched about the mythological facts regarding the ongoing drama, Sikh was originally an abbreviation given to the disciple of Shri Guru Nanak Dev. Because they went to learn about dharma from him. And these people were of 7 different communities.
Where as the term Singh and Kaur was given as an abbreviation to the disciple of Shri Guru Govind Singh – 10th guru of Sikhs and he only commanded singhs to follow their religion by the means of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Which in case no where commands them to stop other people from worshiping Guru Granth Sahib.
Nihang Sikh and The Incident :
Whenever a guru or his disciple visit some religious place or any person’s home to pay a visit to god, there behavior should be considerably polite if they are visiting there for the very first time. They should point out any misconduct happening in the prayers of the god or a guru. What happened in this case was just an ego drift I would preferably say.
What could have been the case is, if the guru Granth sahib was not given proper code of conduct while worshiping. There should have been a way which the lady proposed in the video that was shown online, that the Dharam gurus should come next day at the time of worship and guide them if anything is wrong in their code of conduct.
The thing that happened here was exactly opposite, they way the Dharam gurus talked to that lady was completely wrong. What happened after that is all you know, 75-80 Granth were taken back and stored in the Gurudwara Imli Sahib in Indore.
Hurting the sentiments of disciple of Shri Baba Chandra Hare :
The disciple of Shri Baba Chandra Hare (the son of Shri Guru Nanak Dev) have the equal sentimental values regarding the Granth Sahib as that to the value held by the Singhs. There are 38 lakh sindhi in Indian in total. Sindhis being a minority of about 0.3% of total population of India as per records of 2011 Census, contribute in 20% of India GDP, 24% of Total Income tax and more than 60% of charity in India.
Besides being so less in number and contributing majorly in all economic aspects of the nation, we are now asked to give up our faith of almost 400 years.
Just a reminder if these 0.3% people nationally stopped working for a single day just to protest against what has happened in Indore in regards to our faith. The economists only could imagine in their dreams the smooth functioning of India.
We are Sindhis, proud decedents of Shri Baba Chandra Hare and deity Jhulelal Sai. If our identity and beliefs dare to be questioned once again, the Indian History might see the worst crash in the economics ever.
